For an experience that will change your life for the good.
The new initiative is an exciting program that will offer the lesson of mindfulness, empathy and compassion by teaching Yoga by instilling peace and love in youth and young adults. Participants will also be trained as Mindful Ambassadors and will learned to teach Yoga. Hosted by the Park Heights Community Health Alliance, the Holistic Life Foundation and Baltimore Healthy Start, Project YES! will also provide G. E. D. preparation, guidance on jobs and healthy lifestyles.
There are numerous physical, mental, and emotional advantages to yoga such as:
Improve muscular endurance and strength
Increase abdominal strength, which reduces lower back pain
Provides a mechanism for stress reduction
Increases blood flow within the body
Provides multiple techniques to improve flexibility, balance, and muscle elasticity to prevent injury and reduce chronic pain
Establishes multiple breathing techniques to improve ones connection to their mind, body and spirit.
